Explanation of the Floral Theme for the newly formed Beau-Logan Lutheran Parish

The symbol of a ship is often used to depict the church. Therefore we have chosen a sailing boat to represent our parish, with its name "Beau-Logan".

The craft has three sails - one for each of the congregations in the parish.

The sails are fastened firmly to the mast, which is a cross (the symbol for Christ our Saviour). The craft cannot function unless the sails remain fixed to the mast, just as the congregations cannot function effectively unless they are connected to Christ.

The sauils are filled with the wind which propels the craft, just as the Holy Spirit is the motivator for our parish.

The symbol for God the Father is above, as he is always watching over us.

The colour of the hull is gold, the colour which repesents eternity, while blue (the colour of sea and sky) also points to heaven.

The flowers in the boat represent the ship's crew - the people of the parish - and so, just as the flowers are different (some large, some small, and in many different colours), so the parish members are just like a ships crew having different jobs, different gifts, different skills. As the with the flowers, they blend together as one group.
